My July Daily Painting Challenge: Creating a Visual Diary Through Small Acrylic Paintings

Happy July everyone!

I hope you are having a wonderful summer. I cannot believe I go back to school in a couple of weeks! The summer has flown and has been filled with lots of island time which has been very inspiring to me. I decided to create a daily painting challenge in my 5.5 x 8.5 inch sketchbook for the month of July and I am so excited to share some of these paintings with you. My goal was to paint something beautiful that i experienced each day. I challenged myself to slow down and look for little moments of ordinary beauty such as quaint cottage gardens, vintage bikes, and any small detail that caught my eye. Each painting has become almost like a visual diary of my life and has documented my special time on the island or moments when I am back in my hometown. I spend about 15- 30 minutes mostly on these sketches each day using acrylic paint. I have eleven days left and I will probably continue with this until August because I am having the best time with it. You can learn more about my daily painting practice here.

Here are some of my favorite paintings I have completed this month so far. Let me know which ones are your favorite and maybe I will create some larger paintings inspired by them. You can see all of my daily paintings on my Instagram page. I will continue sharing them each day along with a the story behind the artwork. Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my art, it means so much to me!
