Adding Character to a Home Through Original Art
Happy end of May everyone! I hope you had a lovely spring. I am so excited for summer and warm weather. How about you? I am ready for a more quiet and relaxed summer lifestyle and I can’t wait to blog on here more and of course paint as much as I can:)
One exciting thing I have been wanting to share with all of you are my two white egret paintings styled in their new gorgeous space. I got the pleasure of working with Tyler from Toogoodtomiss on Instagram to create these adorable paintings for her newly remodeled dining room. Tyler has the best taste ever and I was honored that she wanted my egrets to be the star of her space. If you want to create the look of this room, you can check out decorating details here. I absolutely loved working with Tyler and her daughters even named the egrets, “Lily and Leo.” I thought that was absolutely adorable and totally fit the paintings.
In a time when it is very easy to fill a home with mass-produced decor, it was refreshing to work with someone who truly values the beauty and character that original artwork can bring to a home. When you purchase an original piece of art, you are not only supporting the artist, but also bringing something truly unique and magical into your space. Original art is thoughtfully created by hand and with hours of creativity, skill and care.
I believe a small part of the artist lives within every painting and that adds an interesting depth and story to a home. Every color is mixed by hand and every brushstroke is unique to each painting. If you want something in your home that no one else has, I hope you’ll consider original artwork. In my opinion, it elevates a space and brings character and warmth.
If you are interested in your own original artwork I do have some original paintings currently available on Dress the Room Charleston, the KP Art Collective , new work coming to Cailini Coastal in June and of course my originals on this website are located here. For custom art, you can check info under Commissions.
Thanks so much for reading and I hope you have a lovely rest of your weekend!
XO
Michelle
Me holding Lily and Leo before shipping out to Tyler who lives in Texas. So fun to have these Ohio bird paintings head south!
