Growing up I spent many summers on Lake Michigan because my two aunts each had a cottage in Michigan City, Indiana.  These summers were filled with playing in the lake, reading on the beach and wandering through the dune grasses that lined the beaches.  Such wonderful childhood memories I have of being on the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan.
